E'thym O2 Water Moisture Lotion Review

I have just purchased this yesterday in a Face Shop store in Manila for about USD 13.50. I must admit that Kim Hyun Joong made me buy this product.

I started using this last night. I cleansed my face with my usual facial cleanser (Clearasil fragrance free daily foam cleanser) and followed up with an alcohol-free toner (Celeteque). Afterwards, I put on E'thym O2 Water Moisture Lotion. It had a light refreshing scent which somehow reminds me of green tea, it was easy to use and it gave my skin an instant feeling of moisture and hydration. However after a few minutes, I started to smell something not very good, like old moldy leather or the scent of freshly cut grass on a rainy day. In other words, I didn't like the smell. I sniffed everything around me to see where the scent was coming from, until I realized it was coming from this lotion I had just put on my face. Initially i though it interacted with the toner I had just used, so I decided to make an experiment. I put some of my toner on my left wrist, and then topped it off with E'thym lotion. Then on my right wrist I put on only E'thym lotion. A few minutes later, both wrists smelled like old moldy leather & freshly cut grass on a rainy day. I checked my face on the mirror and there were no allergic reactions whatsoever. Then I went to sleep and woke up 7 hours later. I can still smell the not so pleasant scent, however it was not as strong as the night before. I checked my face again on the mirror and didnt see any sign of allergic reaction, in fact it did remain moist and supple with a slight dewey look (which I like).

This morning before going to work, I decided to use another moisturizer for my face (Celeteque moisturizer and Neutrogena sunblock water light lotion), and then put some E'thym lotion again on the back of my right hand. It has been more than 6 hours since and I can still smell that scent.

Bottom line is, this product delivers when it comes to hydrating your skin, but the scent it leaves just makes me think twice about using it again on my face. I might consider just using it to moisturize my knees and elbows.
